El black metal es un género musical surgido a mediados de los 80s, que deriva del thrash metal y del hardcore punk.

Características
La característica principal del black metal son las letras antirreligiosas. También se caracteriza por un sonido "crudo" con guitarras muy distorsionadas y batería acelerada derivada del thrash metal, usando frecuentemente blast beats, comunes en el death metal y el grindcore. El black metal abarca temas que van desde el odio y la misantropía hasta el Satanismo y el Ocultismo.
